I BADLY need information about this track! (Please right click ans "Save As" to listen to the sample)
The Radio 1 Essential Mix tracklistings page puts this one down supposedly as either:-
Nik Boulton - 'Adaptation from Alice in Wonderland', or
Tosca - 'Ambient Emily'.
I've a feeling the sample may have been Ashley transitioning between the two, but I can't be sure.
I didnt think posting this one in the "Unknown Tracks" forum is appropriate as I've kind of already got the track ID-ed, I just need to know everything about it; is it ever going to get a release, yada yada..
It's an awesome track.. I can't eat, I can't sleep, I haven't felt this way about a track for a long time. HELP!!

the track has the vocals
"there seemed to be no use in waiting by the little door, so alice went back to the table..."
so my guess would be: "Nik Boulton - Adaptation from Alice in wonderland"
this track has also been owning me for a while now!.. i just love it!
and also the track after this one.. but i think that tune is "Ashtrax - Play it Rosa" but that doesnt make sense really..
the end of the tracklist is like this:
.
.
.
Helicpoter - 'On Ya Way (Trackapella)' (Tic Tac Toe Records.)
Ashtrax - 'Helsinki Revisited' (Deviant)
Planet Funk - 'Inside All The People (Harvey's Sleepy in Ibiza Mix)' (Bustin Loose)
Nik Boulton - 'Adaptation from Alice in Wonderland' (CDR)
Tosca - 'Ambient Emily' (G-Stone)
Ashtrax - 'Play it Rosa' (Ashtrax)
Maurice and Noble feat. Jane Hadley - 'faith Delivers (ashtrax breaks mix)' (Distinctive Breaks)
Guise - 'Voodoo Glow' (White Label)
maybe the vocals are from the "Nik Boulton 'Adaptation from Alice in Wonderland'" and the music "Tosca - 'Ambient Emily'"

Yeah, that would be my guess too, but we're just playing along until we get some sort of confirmation. It could well be a full track complete with those awesome break elements in 'em. If so, I badly want to get my hands on that record if it ever gets released as a single..

It could very well be that it is a combination of the vocals from Nik Boulton and the music from Tosca...
There are a lot of tracks in the EM with separate vocals played on top of them.. Ashley Casselle didn't even do this by himself, but had someone cooperate with him to work the vocals..

have you guys read the interview with Ashley? It was available on Radio1's website. Here is a part of the interview, this may answer your question:
"This Essential Mix is equal parts horizontal home listening, groovy clubby housey breaky stuff and unadulterated Ashtrax experience. I planned much of the mix at home with ideas and notes from fave sets, then relocated to the studio with Ashtrax partner James Christopher where we performed all manner of dubtechery and a couple of trackapellas and plenty of editing going on.
Jay Burnett, the voice on Planet Rock originally, did a new voiceover and edit specially for this mix. Actor friend Nik Boulton provided some surreal and inspiring vocal work, including the somewhat trippy Alice in Wonderland dialogue towards the end of the mix. So no, I can't just run off a DAT of me bangin' it out in your local disco. "
So I think that amazing track is Tosca - Ambient Emily + the Alice acapella. Btw thats my fav part of this mix. Ashley realy is a genius.

Amazing piece of information, thanks so much! A little disappointed in the end it's just some studio gimmick and not a full track.. it's undoubtedly one of the highlights of that amazing EM, though!

Yeah, it's the same ambient tune isn't it?
I guess we can now conclude that that amazing musical sequence involved 3 tracks weaved together seamlesly to produce that moment of musical bliss.
The males vocals from Nik Boulton - 'Adaptation from Alice in Wonderland',
The ambient riffs from Planet Funk - Inside All the People (Harvey's Ibiza Sleepy Mix)
And the break elements provided for by Tosca - 'Ambient Emily'.
I 'm positive we've nailed it this time, this should be it.
