Hello every1,

Most of the livesets on this page are ripped from the radio (538, Slam FM). Can anyone tell me how to do this. (recieving radio on my computer, and recording it as mp3). I would like to know this because this saturday (7 oct.) Trance Energy will be on the radio, and i would like to put it on my site: http://users.castel.nl/~burgk01/muziek.htm for everyone to download.

Plz help me, Thanks a lot,

WTB.

It's so easy. Connect your radio into the line input of the soundcard, get a sound recorder software (eg. Goldwave, Soundforge) and start recording. After you recorded the program just convert the .wav file into .mp3 with an mp3 encoder (eg. Audio Active Production Studio).

R u sure this is the best way? Hmm, what about when you want to record a live set, lets say Hyperstate... It lasts for 9 hours... After my calculation, the wav file is gonna be **$£@$%""""##########$@£$ huge! Probably the pc wont handle it at all! Aren't there some convert-on-the-fly-mp3 encoders?? Isn't this a much better way to do it? Or am I totally wrong?

What programs do you use?

Thanks for the advice.
It worked, but the sound quality was very poor. Does anyone know how to solve this problem (I didn't use a very good radio, the software I used was Soundforge 4.0).
Thx,

WTB.

I think this is the best way I suggested... Nowadays a HDD must have about 8-10 GB free space for recording. I don't know any on the fly mp3 encoders. Can you suggest me one?

This is what I have thought of but never tried......

Hook up your radio stereo outs to a HiFi VCR. This will allow you to record 2, 4, or 6 hours depending on the tape speed. The sound quality is really good because of the size of the tape.

Then you can do as mentioned above by hooking your vcr to your sound card (use good Quality cables!!!!) Then select parts and record the video tape using AudioCatyst or even wave studio. Audio Catalyst lets you save it as an MP3 once finished.
I want a copy Please.
Good luck!!!
