Dude, honestly, just save up and get some really nice ones. Your records will thank you. If there is some urgent need that you really need to get them...then get some cheapo's...or even just new styli for the ones you have now...but in the end is will be in your records best intrest to get some good ones. I myself use Trackmaster II's and love them...but I have used some really nice needles as of late at parties...sorry I don't know the names....let's help this guy out!

Ortofon OM (headshell mount) are just as good as Concordes, but cost less. They might be a really good alternative if you're on a budget.

Even nasty needles shouldn't be shreading your vinyl that quickly. Records I have owned/been playing for about a year still don't have noticable damage. The worst I've seen is a little fuzzyness around the cue points.
To prevent wear make sure you are using a reasonable tone arm pressure ~2.5-3 grams is usually sufficient. Though if you turn it down it won't help your skipping problems. Also make sure your tone arm height is at zero. Raising it tends accelerate record burn alot. High weight/height also reduces the life if your needles as well.
Do your records skip when you are cueing/backspinning or is it when the record is just playing on it's own?
If it's when it is playing on it's own you could try turning up your anti-skate up a bit if you haven't already. If it skips when cueing at a really burnt out cue points you could always resort to cueing it in on the second beat of a measure just past the skanky point. |

| Screwed needles will damge your records even more, so stop using them. The ortofon OM are good needles on a budget but if you want to go cheap then why not just go for something really standard like the stanton 540al's or a slight improvement on those are the 680's. I actually know some club dj's who swear by them. Don't know the price in us$ but I know they are a lot cheaper than trackmasters. I would honestly save up and go for the ortofon concorde. I have the black ones and I simply cannot fault them.I do agree with fyx, and think if your vinly is being cained that easily your setup must be wrong. |

| Get the Ortofons, If anything don't get Itracks, they are just gimmicky and don't really do much for the price you pay, For 10$ less than Itracks, try the Trackmaster SK II, I have been using them and they are alright..! Good trackin at 3 Grams, very little record wear so far.. |
