Ok ... somthing i didnt realy understand ... What is an asio driver ?!
What is the latest version? , Where can i download it ?
I dont realy get it ...

in short: it's a special driver for your soundcard which will get you a lower latency and some other nice features.
what soundcard do you use? check the developers homepage, you might find asio drivers for you card there.
or you can use third-party drivers like kXASIO or ASIO2K. but these are for soundblaster cards (with an EMU10k1/EMU10k2 chip) only, i think.

If you're using an audiophile, you should be using the ASIO 2 drivers that come with the card. They come with the latest drivers.
Otherwise, ASIO stands for Audio Signal In-Out |

More professional cards often use dedicated ASIO drivers, mostly ASIO 2.0. This gets you rocksolid timing.
If you had for instance a SB Live 4.1, you'd miss dedicated drivers and you would have to use emulated ASIO or DirectX drivers. Latency differences can get up to a couple of 100 ms, terrible if you're playing live. |
