We don't have those hotdog vendors on the streets in Montreal, but the steamed ones you get at La Belle Province are awesome.
I put:
ketchup
mustard
relish
onions
cabbage
hot paprika

You don't need hot dog vendors in MTL, it's all about the smoked meat there. :p |

Ok, not next Thrusday (since infinity_high and I will most likely BE HIGh due to B-day celebrations) The 24th of April sounds great. A visit to release is as well mandatory. Talk to our organizer (LKD) for further details. Also HEAVY drinking on Ryerson Campus is included in the festivities since we have agreed that it is the best campus pub out of all of ours (*cough Humber's CAPS pub sucks! *cough). SO RJ (and any1 else who loves hotdogs, beer, and nachos is invited). :D |

Sure there are... they're just underground. :stongue:
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the April 24th Drunken trancEaddict Hot Dog Xtravaganza Xtreme, since my last exam is on the 25th.
However, if nachos and beer are included, I'd be happy to join for a potential future Version 2 of this mega-event. |

i was just reading the entire thread. I've read the health info about hotdogs and as much as they are true and informative, i say this:
personally, i would like to enjoy life as much as i can beacuse life it too short to bitch about. I'm gonna go out there and eat whatever i feel like even if that means i die 5 years younger. I think sacreficing 5 years off ur life so u can really enjoy anything and everything u wanted ur entire 60 year life is really worth it. Just do the math: die 5 years younger and enjoy whatever vs living 65 fussing about every single thing that goes in u. I'm sorry, but the latter not only hard but impossible because of what the packages don't tell us. Unlike E*Master, i don't have the time to stand there and enjoy cooking even though it's a really nice hobby. Just don't have the time. Last but not least, when u buy ur own uncooked food from the grocery store/butcher.. etc, it's genitcally enhacned. I'm not a health nut but i use common sense: would u rather have ur cows die from a disease and not give them any antibiotics or give them drugs and make more cows (money)? EVERYTHING we eat in North America has some sort of thing or another so don't worry about it too much and just enjoy the flavours while u still can. |

Dr. Z you ignoramus, Potassium Lactate, Sodium Erythorbate, Sodium Nitrate are part of a family we "health nuts" like to call "preservatives." There's a reason lots of products advertise "no preservatives" on their labels - because preservatives are bad for you, no matter what you think. They are chemicals.

lol! You obviously have not done any biology.
But thats not the point, the point is that all the 'healthy eaters' are so paranoid that they start pointing out foods. Like hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. They think its unhealthy. Some are so uneducated, that they actually think its poison, and you'll die from cancer in a few years.
I wish I could thank food sicence, it has done so much for us. I don't know where I would be if I had to worry about health risks of foods.
Btw: On hot dogs
-ketchup
-mustard
-mayo
-relish
-pickles |
|

| contemplator |
hot sauce
honey mustard
red peppers
bacon bits
ketchup

It's not the foods that I'm pointing out at all, it's how they're made and what's in them.
Most hot dogs are leftover meat combined with filler and preservatives. That's just not a healthy combo.
And whomever made the 5 year comment - it's more than just dying 5 years earlier. I've known many people with very poor diets, and believe me, it shows. Not simply in physical appearance but also in their own health (my housemate, for example, has a diet of sausages, pork chops, and alphaghettis, and he always seems sick). It's about lifestyle, not lifespan.
Not having time to cook is a pretty lame excuse when you have time to post on TA. :p
But hey, you're right - you only live once, right? Personally, I can cook a decent meal and I enjoy doing it, but I guess if you're like my sister, and you hate cooking and can't tell the difference between home-cooked and store-bought food, then go for it, live it up. |
