i used to argue with people like juno, but i dont even bother anymore, its pointless..theyll never share my views, and thats alright, i RESPECT that, but he should RESPECT my views, and martins views also. im not jehova witness, im catholic... and its funny, my religeon is a very traditional one, but i seem to be alot more liberal and unbiased on people's religions than you athiest people, i dont really give a flying rats ass if there jehova's witness, protestant, mormon, SATANIST, i dont care. really i dont , i believe a person's allowed to believe in whatever they want. But like i said before, i dont argue with people like you juno, cause people like you have not even tried to understand other religeons, so you have no concrete information or theorie's...read the bible, then you can try and debate on the matter.
->>I dont practice any religion, on the grounds i dont believe in god. if god existed, and gods so great.. right... why does he allow so much bad to happen? ie, women being raped, people being murdered for no reason, etc etc. surely someone so wonderful and great would see to it that these things dont happen?
but no, this just goes on and on and on, why the s he just "sit up there an do nothing" if you ask me, god can go himself. :(:(:(
Hrmm, yes, this sounds like a very intelligent theory. hey if your going to remark upon a subject as touchy as god, and your going to do it in these forums, at least TRY and do it in a civilized manner, as in not dissing god in any way, and anyways its immature, and really looks ty. SO LETS TRY AND PRACTICE A LIL MORE "respect" in the forums plz. thanx.
peace. |
it was simply an opionion. im not pressing anything on anyone here. did i ever say i wont talk to so and so because he/she is this/that. and dont think im making these statements without giving these religions a try. i was brought to church, every sunday, when i was younger. all the way up till i was 14. so dont try and say im making unfair statements. and if you took me swearing at god, well i guess ive no choice but to aploigise. but im tired of talking bout this, i really dont care much anymore... so.. whatever.

your use of words shows that you are frustrasted w/ this topic. and how come you will only argue in attempt to change someones views. how bout arguing to show your views and letting the other person make what they want with it. who cares if their views change.. and maybe they are arguing in attempt to change your views. i doubt you really think about what the other person is saying.
you are VERY wrong about people who dont believe in god being more judgemental on those who do believe. that is oposite.. i have found people who dont believe in god to be more logical and open minded on the subject. he wasnt bashing what you believe. he was stating his opinion and so what.. to me if there is a god like the one you believe in he can go himself.. id crucify him my damn self if i ever met up w/ him. and thats my opinion and it shouldnt offend you. because thats not a statement against you its against something you believe in. how do you know that juno has not read the bible or studied other religions.. i was raised in a church and have read the bible which is a novel in my opinion and i still dont believe in god. your post makes you seem very biased against what he posted. your use of the words.. "people like you" how much could you know about what kind of person juno is just by a lil post.. you are the one making yourself look like you are putting someone else down and making yourself look like an ass. id love to get you in chat and give you an educated argument on "religion" |
thank you, its nice to see someone else sees things the way i do, and by that i mean, just because i dont belive in god, im not a bad person.... but MR ftnb, you know what i have to say about catholics and christians, and this is not all... but maybe you could answer this question.. if god teaches.. unconditional love for all, and to forgive people for there mistakes, and other belifes along these lines, why have so many, blacks and gays been killed because god doesnt like "fags or ******s" thats bull, most of you are hipocrits... to say love all, thwen kill over sexual orientation etc etc |

(Deuteronomy 19:2-3): The rule for anyone who is a false witness against someone was given as: "...life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot."
(Matthew 5:39) "But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also."
So are we to strike those who antagonise us, or allow them to strike again?
I am an atheist and a humanist, Martijn, yet I am willing to bet that I have read more about Christianity than you will ever have. I have a strong grounding in philosophy, and am quite willing to discuss theology with you and explain to you, upon principles of logic, why your beliefs are misguided.
Let me add that I have no problems with your beliefs in themselves but the fact that you feel the need to go door to door preying on the weak (please notice the two different, yet strangely accurate, meanings of the word "pray") simply to validate your own beliefs, annoys me deeply. I hope that you will contact me so that we can continue this discussion without wasting everyone elses time:

Furthermore, any atheist who attacks and/or judges people's beliefs as opposed to the logic behind their beliefs or their methodology in beliefs, can deal with me also.
We have no right to judge anyone else, so as a plea to all atheists, please don't judge people and certainly don't call them names, regardless of what their beliefs may be. I certainly don't agree with Christianity (or any other religion for that matter) but it certainly doesn't give me the right to judge anyone. Everyone has the right to believe in what they want to believe, and no-one can deprive anyone else of that right, but, given this, I believe on logical - not personal - grounds, that belief in a god weakens a man, and that logic, science and objective rationality are far a far more amiable pursuit than that of religion.
Like I said, if anyone wants to discuss this with me further, please contact me:

OK, you wondered if there are jews in this forum, so here is your answer...
ok i'll say some things to save my respect:
basicly, i'm a jew, i was born to a jewish mother and father.
but i really really don't believe in god, and even if i believed that there is one i'd surely not worship him.
ok now i'll make some corrections, most of the jews doesn't wear these stupid black clothes, and not even these skullcaps, those who wear these black clothes and skullcaps are very strict believered, and they are only 15% in israel, and they live in their own cities.
so if you see a jew in the streets, anywhere in the world, you'll probably wouldn't notice that he's a jew, and if you'll walk over Tel-Aviv it will be rare if you'll see one of these strict believeres.
another thing, all those things you say about going door to door and try to convince people to join them, it's all crap. basicly it's againt the jewish byble to let a non jew into the religion (when i say jew i mean someone whos his mother and father are jews), so the only thing they'll do is trying to convince the non-religous jews to become one of them, acually it's kinda funny, sometimes i find these tapes in my mailbox, a rabbi who recorded himself praying, i even took it once instead of throughing it to the garbage can, i thought it would be funny, LOL, I laughed my ass off!!! it was so stupid. oh and that going through door to door, i dunno what you're thinking but i never saw these guys coming to my place- or any plance.
so what i'm trying to say is that most of the jews are the same people like you who act the same, but have a jewish mother and father.
and you don't want me to start talking about idealogics, that will lust forever.
btw, jehovah is the real name of god according to the jewish religion, and it's a sin to say it, but just for the fun i'll say it three times :) |

Jehovah's Witnesses are Christian aren't they?
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but all of (i.e. both) the Jehovah's Witnesses who have come to my place have been promoting Christ as opposed to Judaism? |

| Hey, whatever you believe is your own personal choice. The only thing that I don't agree with is for ANY religon to force their beliefs on others and for any religon to be so close minded to think that "their" way is the ONLY way. Anything is possible in this universe, and to think that there is only 1 truth is absurd. |
