I want to know how i should hook up the behringer truths i just got.
Here's my setup:
2 technics 1200
1 vestax pvc175 mixer
1 gemini amp
2 behringer truths monitors
What i am confused about is how do i hook up these monitors, do i still have to run them through the gemini amp? Or do i just run them from mixer to the monitors and if so what kind of cables will i be needing?
Hope someone can help me out. thanks:gsmile: |

since the truths are active monitors, you don't need your amp. as for hooking it up from the monitor you have some choices:
1st, does the pc 175 have xlr outs? if so, buy a pair of xlr cables and connect them from the mixer to the speaker via the xlr outs.
if not, you have two options; buy either a pair of rca-to-xlr cables or rca-to-1/4" cables. connect the rca end(ur standard white/red plug) to the mixer and connect the other end to each respective speaker.
u should be able to buy the cables at any audio store. |

Thanks for the info binkun:) My mixer has rca outputs. I understand that you are saying i must use the rca cables but the monitors have two inputs 1/4 and xlr. If i get rca to xlr it will only be good for one monitor speaker how about the other monitor how do i hook that up to the mixer:conf: :conf: :conf:

when u get a pair of rca-to-xlr cables, it should have two rca ends and two xlr ends. the red rca-out goes to your right monitor xlr-in and the white rca-out goes to the left xlr-in.
what you are talking of is rca-to-xlr Y cables that combine the two plugs into one stereo end so make sure to get a pair of mono cables, one for each channel. get it?
i think the rca-to-1/4" cables are easier to find...not sure tho. but same principle applies. just make sure u have two rca plugs as well as two 1/4" plugs on the cables. sometimes the cable will be kind of glued together, but u can pull it apart if u need to.
hope this helps |
