I think I have most of Ultra-sonic's albums and around 10 CD singles.
Their album "Tekno Junkies" is their best work, they were pioneers of rave music back around 7 or 8 years ago.
My favourite track would be "Obsession", it has an extremely euphoric raw feel, with beautiful sweeping synths and strong uplifting vocals. It's an ideal example of classic "old-school" euphoric rave music.
The track is on Central Nervous System 1 mixed by DJ Vagas. Now there's a DJ I haven't heard of in 7 years! This was back when the rave scene was in full underground swing and hardcore and happy hardcore were the sounds of the time. Remeber "Here's Johnny"? :) I hated that track! Looking back, it was quite funny. :)
I thought Ultra-sonic had disbanded, maybe they get back together occasionally for performing. The MC is now in Public Domain.
Powerhouse events usually cater for the rave scene, who are into the hardcore and happy hardcore rather than hard trance. Hard trance will still get played, but I wouldn't say that the intended crowd is a hard trance crowd.
I'll probably go to Utopia again at the Superdome. The Superdome is a brilliant venue for a large scale dance music event. I think it's even bigger than the Vodafone arena in Melbourne, but close. |

Ultra Sonic = Dave Forbes (he of el crapolla track "Questions" fame, then the dumbarse follow up "Answers" zzzzz!) & Mallorca Lee (Public Domain).
They're signed up to Central Station & thats prolly why there's all these remixes of Annihalating Boredom going on & why Australia gets these constant tours. |

| "ultrasonic" is now one guy on the decks (i dont even believe he was part of the original ultrasonic, but correct me if im wrong) and the mc from public domain. Dont be expecting anything exciting. Even when they where advertised as ultrasonic the played a 2 hour set and only dropped 3 ultrasonic songs. The last three songs of the set to be exact. If you are hoping for the ultrasonic of old, i think you are going to be dissapointed. |

ive seen both live fuzzy productions brought out public domain about two years ago and hosted the party at the state sports centre i personally thought it went fkn nuts.. but some people were upset cause they thought they would play a whole lot of new stuff.
cant really remembebr ultrasonic just pretty sure ive seen them... i think they played at gas or something once (well the dj did) and went nuts but the next time they played they were boring.
all in all they are pretty cool to see at least once...
and about trance at utopia theres normally fkn ehaps like the whole main arena is trance with only two happy hard sets one from fenix normally at midnnight and a morning set by chester who somehow manages to play the eaxct same set everytime!
anys i think with the lineup for utopia music festival youll see alot of `im too cool for all age events and commerical utopias because im so underground`people attending it! |
