OM vs WEMF

Ok, since Destiny went and rescheduled their little WEMF'03, I probably can't go... So I'm wondering.. Is OM any good?
Did anyone go to OM last year? What kind of music was it?
The OM info for this year is here.
I see that they have a Psytrance 'village' but I can't see any other trance... Maybe I'm missing something....
OM seems very different to WEMF from what I can tell....
So basically, I'm asking for peoples opinions on Om.. If you've been to Om and WEMF, feel free to compare the two for my reading pleasure.

I haven't been to WEMF, but I went to the OM Festival two years ago. It was a fantastic time - there was a strong community vibe, and tons of hippies. You don't have to worry bout peeps stealing from your tent. They had a Kind Kitchen, where they encouraged everyone to bring some food and you could take whatever you wanted from the Kind Kitchen in return. Peeps were always cooking for others. As far as music was concerned, that summer it was mainly drum n bass, the "trance" tent was mainly HARD bass-driven techno with no melody. There were five stages, each with a different theme & music. You had to walk through fields in the dark to get to the next stage. There were a lot of "group" activities, and hippies walking around with pipes and J's smokin anybody.
It had the most amazing vibe, and I'm gonna head back there this summer. |
