Video Cards... Radeon 8500?

| I'm thinking of getting the ATI Radeon 8500 video card, but haven't made up my mind about the 64mb or 128mb version. Is there a big difference here? I only have onboard video card right now, so this will be my primary card. Is there a significant difference between the 2 models? |

| 64 mb for 32 bit + large texture games, but it doesn't matter since the 8500 is already WAY outdated already |

| dont get that. get the new 9600 pro or the old but still powerful/great/harder to find everyday 9500 pro for under $200. weel for your pci i would get the 8500 128 since u can never too much ram yet :) :) avoid the geforce4 mx or geforce2mx |

| the 8500 is outdated.. get the newer 'budget' version.. i think there is a 9600pro or something that should be reasonably priced |

| Just got a 128MB ti4200 for $150 ... my stupid ass geforce 3 is breaking :( |

um..
if I had the money for a better video card, I would have mentioned it. I did some research and it seems like the 8500 would be a good choice. It's just that all the reviews on it that I have read don't specify anything about 64/128mb so I don't know how well each one does against each other. I'm only looking to spend $100 or so on a video card so anything around $200 or more is out of the question. |

| If choice arises between 9000 pro and 8500 (also known as 9100), go for 8500, it's faster :p |

| cheesenip, some MBs that have onboard video have no AGP slot at all whatsoever. If that's the case, then you'll be stuck buying a PCI video card that may be slower than your onboard video. Right now in PCI form there aren't any videocards faster than a Radeon 9000 or a GF4 MX440-SE (at retail stores, you won't find anything in PCI version faster than an outdated Radeon 7500 or a GF4 MX420). |
