I have had a pair of Sony MDR-V900 for about 4 years and i love them. only problem i have now is that the ear pieces (that part that actually surrounds your ear and touches your head) is deterioating. Is there any way to replace this part of the headphones? if not any other ideas besides getting new headphones?

You could try ordering the replacement earpads directly from Sony's parts department. Be aware that Sony will charge you at least $20 to $30 plus tax and shipping for the pair. You will have to call Sony's parts department; Sony's parts Web site currently doesn't list replacement ear pads for the MDR-V900.

While overpriced (you would do MUCH better to get some ATH-A700's from Audiocubes...) the MDR-V900's go for about $140 street.
