I need a heads up on these artists:Satoshi Tomiie, Quivver, and Steve Lawler. I am familiar with the Northern Exposure, some Tranceport, some Bedrock, and most GU series, yet not NuBreed. I have absolutly nothing from those artists.
Here is what I need:
Basic background and what kind of music they play. And the MOST important part is their TOP albums/sets. Something that could guide me towards their direction.
btw, All you elite TAs, take it easy. I'll get there someday. |

The last NuBreed is Tomiie's (#6), and Lawler also mixed a NuBreed. I only know Tomiie from his NuBreed, and it's kinda dark and melodious. Lawler is known for his tribal I guess, and you'll probably be able to find more of his sets on the internet. Quivver i don't know (is it spelled correctly?)
Isn't much of a help i know :p |

Satoshi Tomiie - has definitely lost the chicago house styles that made him famous. Now a combination of dark, groovy, techy progressive house. His nubreed is really good.
Quivver - Probably the more melodic of the three, however recent remixes make me think he's leaning towards a more housey direction. Probably best known for his tune 'One Last Time'
Steve Lawler - tribal, deep, dark, phunky, chunky house, thats the only way to describe him. Is a bit of a fag tho, paying magazines to write him up or some . |

Wow, that about sums up the three nicely. I don't think anyone could have done any better. :) Spot on! |

All three play similar styles of music, though lawler is probably the odd one out here - playing a mixture of tribal, prog and techno.
quivver = john graham, who is also 1/3 of tilt.
all three are excellent and long-time producers. some of their best work:
satoshi tomiie feat kelli ali - love in traffic
satoshi tomiie - virus
pete moss feat terra deva - after 2 (satoshi tomiie mix)
quivver - one last time
led zepplin - baby, i'm gonna leave you (quivver mix)
blackwatch & quivver - loveless
tilt - seduction of orpheus
tilt - 36
(both tilt productions are very dark, typical of quivver's current style)
steve lawler - andante
dj sandy vs housetrap - overdrive (steve lawler mix)
cevin fisher - love you some more (steve lawler mix)
trisco - musak (steve lawler remix)
as far as good mixes by these three, lawler's "lights out" mix set on GU is awesome. satoshi's "nubreed" and his live set at ministry of sound in early 2002 were awesome. and quivver's (john graham's) "transport" album is quite good. |

I always try to keep an open mind and listen to new artists. Thanks for the info. Let the downloading begin.
p.s. For some odd reason, I presumed that Steve Lawler is Christopher Lawrence. Shame on me. Isn't there also Max Graham? A Canadian Dj? Havn't had the time to get around to him either. |

Yup... they're totally different people, so don't get them confused. I like Max's productions, but I've never heard any of his sets or seen him live (yet), so I can't really describe his style. |

Max Graham is amazing live - one of the best DJs I've seen. Definitely check him out. A good set you could download would be his Live on Kiss 100 (11-Oct-2002). He spins a mixture of progressive house, breaks, techno, and even a little trance. ;)
And Amit, I didn't forget those. I just don't like 'em! :D I did forget Space Manoeuvres "Stage One" though, prolly John Graham's best production. |
