If anyone knows the actual origin of this it would be interesting to hear, but I've always known it to be basically a generic term for everything stoner-related. :) |

Here is what I know.
4:20 is when the time stoners come home from work school whatever and they eat and do their and they spark one up @ 4:20
if u wouldn't have rulez like this and u did wake and bake all the time, u wouldn't be PRODUCTIVE! |

It's more than that though... it's part of the whole culture. Like if you see "420" graffitied over a bridge, you know that under the bridge is a good smoking spot... etc. Some people also think that 420 is the number of active chemicals in it?? Not sure about that.
It's sort of like a religious symbol. :) |

It all started with the band "the gratefull dead"....they pretty well started it all, they were hardcore stoners...and whatever else. |

I'm surprised nobody knows this one... anyways, 420 is the police offence code for weed in California - that is the one and only place the whole thing comes from - got big in the 60's and all that!
