For Vinyl:
Technics 1200's (though some will argue that the Vestax are better, but please lets not go there)
For CD's:
Pioneer CDJ-1000
Mixers:
There's lots of good mixers
the Allen & Heath boards are good (Xone 464, Xone64), the Pioneer DJM 600 is good, there are some good Vestax boards too.....its all depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.

Vinyl decks: Tech 1200s for House/Trance, Vestax for Hip-Hop/Scratching
CD decks: CDJ-1000s
Mixers: Rane, Dateq, Pioneer, Roland... |

Decks as said in above two posts.
If money REALLY isn't an issue then go for the Allen & Heath mixers IMO. Don't rule out the A&H Xone 32, it's awesome.
Otherwise if money is an issue, even if slightly an issue, then Vestax PCV-275 is a good one.
Though there are always other mixers to choose from. |

Vinyl decks: Tech 1200s
CD decks: CDJ-1000s
Mixer: Allen & Heath V6

Aria has them all and a Pionneer and Rane mixer. |

The Vestax PDX-8000's are the best turntables on the market. Unfortunately they are very very hard to find.
And they list for $1,200.00 USD each. |

The best turntables are debatable...it's a matter of personal preference, and most people prefer to play on industry standard tables. (tech 12s)
As for a mixer...Vestax anything. SO durable...and the sound quality is amazing.
If you want efx, buy a board. You don't need to have the efx functions built in to the mixer, although it is handy. |

| As good as the Allen & Heath Xone V6 mixer is, I would never buy it ($8000 seems overpriced if you ask me), looking at it makes me want to throw up, it looks like a panel for some power system LOL! UGLY! |

^^ well, the v6 is not exactly targeted towards 'home users'. it's a club mixer...unless you have tons of cash and a HIGH powered system at home...

| Yes I know, but there's nothing extremely special about this mixer that warrants an $8000 price tag. |
