Legal Drinking AGE...?? :=()

What do you guys think is the proper legal drinking age??

Most of USA is 21 years; Well all the kick ass states like California (except for like 2 states and Virgin Islands, GUAM Puerto Rico it's 18). Your brain doesn't stop maturing until like age 25-26, but who is going to abstain until age 26???
Another thing: Why is it easier to buy crack/shrooms/weed when you are "underage" than alcohol?? I think that says something about the "war on drugs;" I.E. "War on ourselves." I remember when my friends and I were younger we'd have to steal it (beer) from a store lol.

Mexico to the south is 18yrs, and Canada to our North is 19yrs.
Personally I would not feel comfortable with a drinking age lower than
19 yrs in the US. You are still in high school at 18, and many 16 year olds drive here; It wouldn't be wise. 21 is a bit high though.

p.s. I should mention that it's estimated that one third of people under 21 have a fake id. Fuct up . :stongue:

Here is a neat chart I found. The first # is legal drinking age. The second # is legal purchase age. Sometimes there is a difference in the laws concerning purchase vs consumption. It's interesting to note that the countries with a history of prohibition (Like US, Sweeden, and Eastern European countries) have higher driking ages. I've read that in Italy you can buy hard liquor at the grocery store @ any age...:stongue: I don't really drink that much, but obviously this is an area of interest for Tranceaddicts since DJs often play at parties where alcohol is served. I keep meaning to inquire about military service members, but I don't know if there is an exception for them. Half the US soldiers comming back in coffins aren't even 21.

This is also a question of, "At what age does a person become 'mature?"

For example in the USa for some reason you can buy a deadly firearm at 18yrs of age (except those which can be concealed on the person (21)), but not liquor (mostly) until 21 yrs of age.

In malta you can drink legally at 16, but not gamble in a casino until age 25. WTF????

Should we abolish all age laws??

What about sexual consent laws?? In California it's as high as 18. I think that's totally redic. I think sexual consent laws are for the most part overbearing, and an example of the gov attempting to impose a moral standard. Back in biblical times, a chick would be knocked up and married to some old fat dude named Ezekial by the time she was 12. :toothless

They were very close to passing an referendum (sp?) in Nevada that would decriminalize 3ounces and less of pot for over 21s. The law enforcement supported it strongly. It will come to a vote again, and hopefully pass this time.

Future Nevada: Legal weed, casinos, hookers, strippers....

Just go to Joe's fake id shop if you're not 21 lol. :D

i think it should be 18..

i don't agree with putting an age on someones maturity, although someone who is 30 still may be more mature than an 18 year old it isnt always the case..

theoretically it is right but not always in practise..

I'm from the USA. If you can die for the country you shoud be able to buy liquor. Thats my opinion. I feel the drinking age should be 18 instead of 21. By this, I mean all of the men drafted for Vietnam and ww I and II.
