I've been messing around with electronic music for about 2 years now. The only times I've made significant improvement in my skill at producing is when someone has completely, totally, and brutally told me what was wrong with my music.
And that's what I'm looking for now. My latest trance song is, in my opinion, significantly better than anything else I've put out so far. However, it's almost certainly not near a level approaching 'professional.'

The song is labeled "Signs Of The Future."
(RIGHT CLICK!! SAVE AS!!)
It's a melodic trance song, in something (I hope) approximating "DJ-friendly" format. Any criticism and suggestions would be highly appreciated. Go on, let me have it. I won't take it personally. :D
(Most of my other songs are mere rough drafts, so I'm aware that they may sound...bad. :) ) |

Let's start with:
Not fond of the bass. Sounds kinda...cheesy. Interesting, for the most part. OK. Time to put things bluntly. This is Cheese de la Cheese. I do appreciate the originality of this track. The quote...well, it sucks. As far as the technicalities are concerned, this is a well made track. Keep it up. Keep on posting. |

Thanks for your honesty. It's nice to hear what someone really thinks, instead of holding back to avoid the appearance of flaming.
I'll take your comments under advisement. |

| mmm, sounds a bit empty to me, like it needs something. Maybe a few sprawling acid lines or somesuch. That bassline sounds very goatrancy, although not nearly as good as most goa artists. Maybe listen to some Astrix for some ideas for basslines. BTW, I liked the sample & the main synth parts. |
