Which is a Ferry Corsten production, and it's horribly obvious.

I dont agree on that, Gouryella obviously has got a Tiësto sound in it, just compare ferry's solo works from those days to Gouryella's works. They are quite different if you ask me. |

... he says in one interview "djs are finding new ways to produce trance music without it sounding so gay." ... |
Can you proof he said this? I can't believe Tiesto would say something that immature. |

No, what makes the first three Gouryellas stand out is the very obvious Tiesto feel in the tracks, without it the tracks wouldn't be as legendary as they are today. They would just be another stale and fluffy Ferry Corsten production, like say, Ligaya. |

I agree with Pio.Trance as a genre was seriously decaying at the end of the 90s,with each release being less creative and more recycled trash than the other. Tijs realized this, and shifted his sound to a more experimental one, incorporating i.e prog and techno in his sets. Personally I don't think the techno he plays works that well, but the progressive edged trance sound Tijs has now is far more sophisticated and enjoyable for me than the overused and beaten-to-death epic trance horse that i.e. Ferry has flogged for almost his entire career.
Unfortunately, his success seems to have got somewhat to Tiesto's head, causing him to deliver uninspired and half assed performances when he can't be arsed(which the UK in particular has suffered from several times for instance). However, what never ceases to puzzle me is how quickly he can go from one miserable gig to mix a fantastic journey of a set on the radio a week or so after, complete with wicked tunes and solid mixing. I guess it all depends on what mood he is in,which is kind of snobbish and dumb, but I'll forgive him, since he really knows how to tug my heartstrings when he's on a roll.
I've always wondered though:does Tiesto hate the UK?Cos virtually all the gigs seem to end up there, where as in Holland or USA he gets rapturous responses every time he's over there playing.Perhaps he just doesn't like the UK anymore, and this is reflected in his sets over there? |

Nah, go to the tiesto.com, gatecrasher, godskitchen forums and you'll see that many British people actually love Tiesto. He must like it as well, that's the country where he does most of his SOLO events. It's just that here in TA we get a biased perspective from the snarky scenesters of the UKTA mafia (no offense, i love you guys ;) ). Not all of them are Tiesto haters though, I think a couple of them are even coming to Holland for the concert. |

i think one of the reasons is simply his busy schedule. he is a man in demand, he would fly in and out of countries every weekend, the man probably doesnt have a bodyclock and wouldnt even consider buying a watch! his busy schedule at times would really start to take a toll on him. i think mid to end last year his schedule becoming ludicrously busy. i think the reason that "he can go from one miserable gig to mix a fantastic journey of a set on the radio a week or so after" is that week or so after, that probably affords him some rest mid-week.
still, i think he's only been guilty of it a few times, but if you are going to commit yourself to a gig you should take into account all the other gigs at the time. i'm sure he doesnt purposely spin sets just to piss of the UK, it's just sometimes he can become worn down. his schedule nowadays doesnt seem as hectic as it once was, which means more quality and consistency of tiesto sets :) |

| Hahaha. You thought the UK hated Tiesto? Check out the New Yorkers at www.arcspace.net. The mere mention of Tiesto will probably get you banned! LOL. |
