Behringer DJX400 vs VMX200

Hey guys, I'm on the look out for a new mixer and Behringer seems like a pretty solid name to go with (they're affordable and have everything I want). I'm kinda on the fence over two mixers tho...the DJX400 (http://www.behringer.com/02_product...DJX400&lang=eng) and the VMX200 (http://www.behringer.com/02_product...VMX200&lang=eng). I'm looking for beat counters, beat displays (flashly light beat things), and a 3 band EQ. I'm pretty sure both of these mixers have those 3 features but the VMX200 is $20 more and I was wondering if it was really worth it. I like the DJX400's more open layout but I like how you can split the channels in your headphones with the VMX200. Any suggestions or experiences you guys might be able to speak up about I'd greatly appreciate. Thanks.

As an owner of the VMX-200, I have no problems recommending it. As well, at the price the Behringers are, they are nearly disposable compared to more expensive brands.

Anyways, I've had the VMX-200 since mid-January, and been nothing but happy with it.

first off, beat counters and beat indicators... useless
don't bother, i thought i needed them too when i started, it's like masturbation, after a while you realize you're just ing yourself

sure it helps when you're starting out, but then you get dependant on them and if you play on a mixer that doesn't have them, you're screwed

learn to beatmatch by ear first, so you don't have to learn to beatmatch twice

now as for the mixers
it really comes down to what you want for features i guess
you could wait till after the summer when behringer releases the djx-700
then have some of the features of a pioneer djm-500/600

I will also recommend the VMX200. Although the BPM counters aren't very accurate, everything else about the mixer is great.
