Any TA going to this event? Priceless moment to see the cloud of smoke go up right downtown at 4:20. Last years attendance = 7000 people.

Although I don't have a problem with people who smoke, if you buy maryjane (or any drug) then you probably are causing victims.
People don't realize that most of the drugs are sold (with a big mark up) by organized crime. Organized crime uses this money in ways that does cause victims - and that cannot be denied. Saying otherwise is irresponsible.
IMO - the gov't should get involved, standarize drug potentcy, plain package it, tax the hell out of it, reinvest the revenue into social programs (including rehabilitation) and keep the revenue out of the hands of criminals. |

Decriminalization is where its at. Luckily the laws are slowly changing in our country and in much of the world (minus the good ol' US of A).
Drugs in general should be treated as a Social problem and not a crimnal one. Education as to the risks and support programs for those afflicted with an addiction should be the main focus of governemnt.
We are supposed to value the freedom of choice in this world. The predominant attitude to those who are severly addicted to hard drugs is that they are the problem. However, we must understand that their problems are a result of the conditions in which they exist. A crack addict or Heroin addict is as much a result of the social conditions in which they were brought up. Treating them as criminal only continues the cycle.

drugs are there and there is no such thing as drugs are bad, it's more like drugs might be bad if u use it for all the wrong reasons.
for example pencil is a very good writing tool. u can sketch down thoughts, draw master pieces and solve very complex mathematcal problems. Once u hold a pencil and try to stab someone with it, it's a weapon.
same thing with drugs. Drugs are there to make our lives better and it's a shame some are illegal. For example, i get hurt in an accidnet, i need some stronger pain killers, go to the doctor, writes me an Rx for say 50 tab. of tylenol 3 w/ cod. that's nice.
Now, we have a nice party to chill at, i need to smoke a j (which happend to be a whole lot less lethal and less addective than the Rxed painkillers i took) and all the sudden it's illegal.
For all the same reasons marijuna is illegal, i think cigs should be just as illegal.
Cigs kill more ppl a day than marijuna and even though i don't have the fancy medical links or numbers, u just have to take my word for it so yea.... u get the point.
stupid north american way of thinking and corrupt government powers is why we have such issues. (i spoke too much) |
