I just registered my first Domain (jumps up and down). Feels like when i bought my 1st new car. But I had to go tru hell to get it. My gripe is with the Cybersquatters who buy up the good domain names and try to make a killing by reselling them at blackmail prices. The whole system is so corrupt. There are companies dedicated to snatching up names as they become availible using automated programs to gain an overwhelming advantage over the ordinary individual. With over 30 million names taken its hard as hell to get a good one. Luckyly, with lots of blood, sweat, and creativity you can manage.
Anyone ever try to find a domain name? |

my domain name is ... my name
... i guess i'd better make sure to renew it every year or some will put a porn site or some other on it and then try to make me pay lotsa $$$ to get it back |

I recently started doing freelance web design and decided I'd better get a "real" address. It took me 2 days with a dictionary and bottle of aspirin. I wanted to come up with a creative name that described my site while avoiding "dot com" cliches. I finally gave into the "my___.com" cliche, because i felt it was more important to say what i do and avoid meaningless nonsense like "purplemonkey.com" (btw thats taken :p). Any opinions on my name? |

I dont think its worth buying domains, just to sell them to someone for a bigger price.
because the chance of someone wanting ur domain is low, i mean if u registered it, then obviously it wasn't in that high demand, otherwise it would have been gone
:P
unless you were lucky, and got a killer domain about 5 mins after the previous owner didn't want it anymore |
