8. Question : What place does computer art hold in the art world?
It's a way to put your ideas in action, it can unfortunately be a trap, I realized that a couple years back and then started sketching out more on paper the basis of the project, and the steps needed to achieve the final work |

1. drawing tablet, adobe photoshop, adobe illustrator, eye candy 4000, 3d studio max r4, lightwave 3, bryce 5, powershot s30 digicam, titanium powerbook g4, yashica manual camera.
2. 3d renders, airbrushing, illustration, etc
3. power, nanotechnology, post-industrial, surrealism, pop-art, nebula, space & time, movement captured, abstraction, chaotic, microcosm, fabrication, fantasy, exploration, futuristic
4. hmm...very hard to say. i have many that i am fond of. sorry :P
5. andy warhol, jens karlsson, eric jordan, james widegren, barbara kruger, tony graf, agnes varda, some off the top of my head.
6. hmm...criticizing work. putting my work out there for the public to see. expanding my boundaries. travelling. freelancing. winning awards. majoring in new media arts in high skool. working for large corporate clients both locally and internationally.
7. travel all over the world with my trusty camera while being able to freelance constantly. perhaps work for a firm again someday, maybe kioken in NYC. being able to co-write some of the greatest ongoing texts for today's modern digital art (i.e. metalheart, masters of photoshop, etc). be interviewed by shift magazine.
8. new media artwork imo is a seperate form of art in itself. neither can it mimic traditional artwork but nor can traditional artwork mimic it. anyway, digital art has been taking the world by storm for last decade and a half and will continue to do so in the not so distant future. |
