I have been upset with this article for sometime now, and thought it was time to ask your opinion. I like mixmag, but i think they did a poor job of writting this article. It seems as if the mag is more concerned with pointing out the faults of trance, for a quick laugh, rather than actualy doing the genre some justice. It did have some good info, but i got a snobish feel through out the article. Anyone agree? Disagree?

But there are faults, why ignore them? :p

Could someone pleas post it, so we can have a better discussion? :)

Err... I don't think it was meant to be taken too seriously...

the article was just for a laugh....mixmag tried to cover many diff genres of music paying no specific attention to any really...only the fact there is club listings in the bk narrow it down to funky house, trance n hard house (ok wiv sum prog/breaks etc) and the new tunes bit they do....at the end of the day mixmag is wank now...dont really want to get into a big debate about it, but the way they try to mould clubbers to dres and act in a certain way rlly started to piss me off....ive been speaking to ppl from mixmag and this months they have tried to give it a maturer edge, and after being slated every month on the gatecrasher board for the last few months they are taking note...hopefully they will pull their socks up and we will start to get up to date, reliable info in mixmag - i mean i nearly wet myself when last months issue came out, tomcraft lonliness was their 'big new tune'......which had been played in the clubs since like, 6 months ago :haha:
DJRavemonkey
Well admittedly Mixmag is , but compared with DJ magazine, then it puts trance in a very favourable light. DJ Mag seems to spend their whole time being too elite for trance as its "for kids". they are absolute wankers and i wouldnt piss on the makers of the mag if they were on fire

Its not only Mixmag(which is consider great magazine) also i had read many jokes about trance in most dance magazines. I mean wake up people. You like trance? Good for you, but trance is not anything to be taken serious. Its just type of rave music so you can go wild in the club. All the tracks you consider classic trance are just classic electronic music. Get that right please.
