I was watching Poltergeit a couple of minutes ago, and I was laughing my ass off....it was soooo hilarious. The "monsters" were so bad, and it really wasn't scary. Could anyone recommend any other funny 80's "horror" movies?

I recommend you watch a movie called "the people under the stairs"

Saw it as a kid during a sleepover at a friends and it scared the living daylights out of us...hahahha, I bet it's very funny to watch now but the movie still holds a special place in my heart.;)

Hmm, let's see what comes to my mind:

House
Screaming (20 or so are out there)
Children of the Corn (is that the right title?)
It (was scary when I watched it years ago)
Braindead (a horror movie with a budget well below 10000$)
Bad Taste (even worse than the previous - therefore a must see!)

i love, love, love cheesy horror movies. and of course they have to come from the 80s to be great.

best of ALL time is Chopping Mall. hands down.

the leprechaun series is also fantastic (namely, 4 and 5).. but they are from the 90s. of course theres also the Evil Dead trilogy. Slugs is another good one. American Gothic is funny in a "wow this is really ed up" sort of way. Dead Alive is another must see, but i think its from the 90s as well. just watched one called Carnivore that was pretty bad (but funny)

haha, I actually went to watch it at the theatre when the exorcist remake came out a few years ago. Since I never saw before, it was a good time to catch it in the theatre no less.

The audience was laughing throughout the entire movie :haha: A friend of mine fell asleep during the movie only to be awakened by the infamous 'spider walk' LOL :haha: :haha: :haha:
k.k.d.
hmm.. you forget the original Evil Dead (1981).. hehe... It even influenced Brooklyn Bounce to release one of their less cheesier tunes, Canda ;)

Poltergeist series is famous for not as much being scared, as for like 10 crew and actor members dying shortly after the movies' releases... Somme people are freaked by this, but honnestly, coincidances occur :)

[Edit: nm, Sothis mentioned it.. even tho I have to point out only the first two movies saw the light of day in 80s..]

Nothing beats "Child's Play" 1-3:)

Ah, yes, the Evil Dead series. I knew I forgot something. I even have a T-shirt with Ash's picture on it. And it was so funny to hear that speech I heard before in a Brooklyn Bounce tune.
