It saddens me that every glass of milk I drink may be my last...

I think its unatural for us as a species to drink the milk of another animal. But it tastes good. I have slowly stopped drinking milk and started with Soy milk instead.... much healtheir in my opinion.

Well, I never drink milk neat, hardly ever eat cereal anymore, dont do coffee or tea, and only ever use milk a bit for in cooking (say for pasta sauce).

I do eat the odd bit of cheese tho, but I use vegetable spreads instead of butter.

Icecream is yummy, but I dont eat it that often.

My main milk contributor is probs chocolate, so if this stuff is all true, I don't think I have too much to worry about :D

It's unnatural for us to take medicines too. If something is unnatural, it doesn't mean it isn't good.

LOL! This is hilarious.

Have you people actually gone to the site of the source? (www.notmilk.com)

It looks like a conspiracy-theory site to me. :)

And look at the big picture on the left, "Target: Blacks". It links to an article that pretty much says that the US is in a conspiracy against blacks by giving poor coloured families free food and milk, disguising it as an act of "generosity" while they really want to destroy the black population by giving them "poison" (i.e. milk).

This is just as bad as the US-gov't-orchestrated-9/11 conspiracy theories.

LOL, I have now. :haha: :haha: From what they say there it seems like milk is responsible for half the diseases known to mankind. And I love the title of the book they're offering there "Milk - The Deadly Poison". :haha:

I'm sure milk isn't the perfect food (then again, what is?) but it you can imagine this article is over-emphasising the negative aspects of milk. In some cases it's just plan wrong, eg:

Lactose: Two sugars. Glucose and galactose. Galactose has been indentified as a trigger for glaucoma. There are several columns that cover lactose (covering galactose and galactosemia).

Lactose is indeed a disaccharide comprised of one glucose molecule and one galactose molecule. However, once the body breaks lactose down into its component parts, the galactose is then converted into glucose according to a multi-step metabolic pathway. Galactosemia results when one of the required enzymes in this pathway is missing, due to a genetic defect, and thus galactose builds up. Under normal circumstances this doesn't occur. Statements like this make it hard to trust the credibility of the entire article...

- Mmmm this articles are some way bias. Milk and dairy products are very healthy indeed to you. Obviously if you have cholesterol problems or heart problems, drink the Fat Free Milk, it's not like it isn't available. My causens, and grandfather who grew up drinking milk until now, are soo damm healthy!!!! and the best milk is the milk that comes out right after it's sucked out of the cow, that's the best milk there is. That's why my granfather, been 70 years old, still plays soccer like never before. My causens, jeez they got those bones so strong, won't even get there, and he hasen't had ANY damm problem.

Yogurts are good in fact, to help you get those cells active for the metabolism, yogurt speeds it up, besides been one of the most important and best factors to eat in the morning. SO really, all those problems said to be caused by milk, don't really believe it, hence the fact that I know lots of people that drink milk as if it was water, and they are the most healthy, I hate milk though, drink it sometimes in the morning, and no problems with that.

sorry dude looks like your family has good genes or a healthy lifestyle
milk doesnt contribute the stimulation of metabolism. metabolism is controlled by the thyroid gland. thryoid hormones are released into the blood system only when there is low blood levels of t3 and t4 or a low metabolic rate. cold environments, hypoglycemia, high altitude and pregnancy also stimulate the release of thyroid hormones
im goin off the top of my head now. these hormones cause the body to use glucose and lipids in the production of ATP and the rate of ATP production is set by your mother. ATP is fuel used by your body.

anyway think about it like this, your basically drinking the secretions of another species. ive only thought about it in the past cpl years but its damn right wrong

i just dont understand how people here think that just because they are healthy its due to milk...

milk is simply a substance to help baby cows grow- humans arent supposed to drink it. obviously that isnt going to stop you milk stalwarts, but why blindly believe that milk is good for you just cause thats what everyone else says?

i havent been to 'notmilk' and it prolly is a conspiracy site, but that doesnt mean that milk is some wonder substance...

if you are so hell bent on 'health' and 'healthiness' you can be healthy without milk. and conversely just because you drink milk doesnt mean you are healthy- in fact its quite the opposite|
