Do we talk about the same Detroit Techno?

Here in Switzerland it's considered to be hard stuff, but well people have mixed up those genres here, it sucks. Don't diss me for that fact.

So what exactly do you call Detroit techno?
torontotrance
no it's not and I don't think it will die and remember it's because of detroit and juan atkins, derrick may and kevin saunderson is the reason you have techno in the first place. So without detroit techno, you technically would have never had european techno.
torontotrance
detroit techno is simply techno with more string elements and more innovation behind the tunes instead of the typical european bang the helluva outta you techno
Acid Junkie
even if so, it still sucks :p

The typical european bang the out of you techno (e.g. Kay D. Smith, the stuff that DJ Rush plays) is called Detroit Techno here. Confusing huh?

I was actually looking for a little harder stuff, since I found some really nice US techno tracks on a german "schranz" compilation.
torontotrance
that's your opinion, you friggin acid techno JUNKIE!.....rofl....where is vermi to add into this discussion.

u go, dude! tell him what the true techno sound is. not that detroit anachronism

"more string elements" yeah right, gimme a break :stongue:
torontotrance
actually it does...then again...you don't know that much

remember again without detroit techno...acid techno never would have happened.

Help what have I done :nervous:
torontotrance
never worry it's usually

acid junkie and verminator vs. tta

jeff mills's latest cd is good

c1 is good (throws detroit techno and european techno in that mix) and he even got to use a Underground Resistance track on a compilation (which is very difficult to do and very rare)

Acid Junkie
detroit techno had no or little influence on acid techno. they have nothing in common :stongue: acid tec made its own path in the evolution process. actually, acid house is much closer to it ;)

"it's not intelligent and it's not from detroit.. but it's in avinit!" - chris liberator :D

I give up  *abandons this thread*
