very very true. The most expensive place I've ever been to. I mean come on 15 Euros for a rum and coke....what the hell is with that
PROs
Europe = Better for Partying as more DJs are resident there.
Ibiza = Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarteeeeeee Central and lots of Hot Chicks (and guys for the ladies). Ibiza guarantees you to get laid (or so I heard. I've never been there :()
Unfortunately, a very popular misconception....unless I was staying in the wrong place..
and to be quite honest, the Government is a lot nicer than the clubs in Ibiza...I was dissapointed.
Sorry to burst anybodies bubble...but still and experience not to be missed so make sure you get out there |

ahhh... back when people went out to PARTY and didn't go out to DRINK.
damn, those videos gave me chills...
i'll never forgot going to to those large parties, you could sometimes not see your friends for 3+ hours, then you would run into them and share all the experiences you just had.. meeting people, funny that'd happen, funny that you'd see, or maybe that was hallucinate. lol.. people now complain about drugs sometimes, but i think it's still safe to say that drugs are what fueled things for many years on the large scale. but in another aspect, i bet with a huge lineup a 19+ party could still go off at one of those large venues, look how many people Labor of Love got last year. just some thoughts. |

| oh yea, and I'd LOVE to see footage from when Oakenfold was spinning.. I just remember at times looking around during parts of his set and the whole place just going absolutely insane. People jumping up and down, girls all over the place on guys shoulders, hands in the air everywhere..... ahhhhhhh... |

| I've been listening to rave music since 1998, but i wasn't in Toronto for all that stuff. When i got out of highschoolin 2002, I moved here in hope i catch up, but i didn't see this scene you guys are talkin about. DJays became slaves to super clubs indeed, club owners use them to lure ppl in order to sell drinks. This warehouse scene where people would go to raves for for the music and dancing is almost nonexisting, dresscodes were brought in to a scene which is supposed to be a representation of free spirit, id pay double the cover for rave parties like that..... |

My first party.
Getting the compliment "You're very non-threatening" twice in the same night was an interesting experience to say the least. |

Hey Ibiza doesnt have to be expensive. I went with 3 other buddies from Toronto, to London, Barcelona, then took the ferry over to Ibiza, we stayed in Ibiza for a little over a week. The trip cost totally 3500cdn, not bad really considering we were paying in EURO's and Pounds it can be done... OH by the way forget about all the things you hear about getting laid and such. You go there to have fun, to experience something you never have before, though the girls are all very friendly (everyones very friendly) and very beautiful. Everyone in North America thinks Ibiza is about drugs, and sex.. it is NOT.. its almost a religious experience, it can gaurantee the time of your life, making friends from all over the world. Its a bit commercial now but the money is well spent. Goin there again in 2004!
Cheers! |
