| thats not the xvid installer :P when I first used xvid I was confused like you :P goto google and search for "xvid install" it should be a seperate program what that exact name (atleast how I have it on my comp) and rather small about 300kb; if that fails, I still have the installer on my comp and I can send it to you |

if its xvid and you've installed the codec, then all you need to do is open the file in Media Player, or whichever one you prefer to watch your xvids on :D |

Go to that link for everything you need to know about dvd/divx/vcd/svcd etc... all the programs you need are on their including players, codecs, encoders, decoders, and there are guides on how to convert dvd-->divx, and divx-->svcd and so on.
The program you should use is called G-Spot as mentioned before. You load up the AVI file in that program and it will tell you the video and audio codecs that are necessary to play it. It will also tell you whether you have those codecs installed or not.
Sometimes what I do is uninstall the xvid codec and then reinstall it. It works sometimes, but maybe it's just luck?
Anyways visit that link. Everything you need is there. |
