Marco V - Godd...what does it mean?

I'm a HUGE fan of this track....in fact, it might be in my top ten of all time. As I was running and listening to it today, I began to contemplate what the song actually means. Does anyone have any insight as to what the song is referring to? Maybe I am looking into it too deeply, but I would like to know if he is referring to a Catholic God, or perhaps a veiled look into drugs being the God of someone's existance.

Your thoughts?

Godd? Wasn't he some fictional character in a book called "the bible".

I'm not to sure but it may very well have been published in the 80's

He he, that made me laugh :D

But seriously, I think the lyrics might be some sort of statement about religion or maybe even monarchy listening to it? The lyrics are written from the perspective of someone dismissing other God's if you get what I'm saying. I cant explain what Im trying to say at the moment :D My head is pickled after three hours of Othello :nervous:

I read an article a while ago regarding this. The reason for the 2 D's instead of one was to differentiate betwen the religious connotation of 'God' and the song. I forgot what he meant by it, but somewhere around on the net is an explanation..hopefully somebody can find it.

To answere some FAQ: 1) The lyrics are not religious. Its all about believing in yourself. 2) Godd has the double D because we did not want to disrespect people who are religious. 3) The lyrics are NOT sampled from another track, but recorded at our studios and performed by our good friend and a talented singer: Leslet Hendriks. She also did the vocals on I FEEL YOU and ECHOES.

yea i noticed the spelling the "Godd" and thought that was kinda cool cuz i know that for example in the jewish religion, whenever they write god on something, they spell it with 2 "d" 's so they are not disrespecting the name. They take the name very seriously, so let's say they right the word god with one "d" or in hebrew, then they can't throw away the paper. if they want to get rid of the paper, they have to give it to a rabbi so he can bury it and say a blessing or something like that. Sounds kinda wacky, but some people are really into religion and really think god exists. :eyespop:
