Oh, and Prodigy 'Fat of the Land' helped it along |
Oh yeah, I forgot about Prodigy. I first heard "Breathe" and then picked up a copy of "The Experience," which is probably what got me into electronica in general first. Then I picked up Swedish Egil's Elektronik and heard Ajare and Anomaly (Calling Your Name). I took off from there, which was sometime over five years ago (of course that's nothing compared to some people here :p). |

I used to love synth when I was like 9-11 yrs old... The likes of Vangelis, Jarre and Jeff Wayne introduced me to electronica.
My strong love for trance grew a few years ago, with Barber's Adagio for Strings FC Remix :) |

| For me, it was the entire Prodigy 'Experience' album, but the one song that brought me all the way into EDM was "Around the World" by Daft Punk. |

Anyone here into MOD tracking? (.xm . it .mod files)
They're kind of like better sounding midi... a very basic sampling sequencer like frooty loops. I had a few electronic ones I had downloaded and enjoyed, and I was broadcasting them over my small... 10 person shoutcast station. One of the listeners sent me an ICQ saying 'What is this stuff? I bet if you like these songs, you'd like this even more:"
He sent me KayCee - Escape.... And the rest is history.
P.S. http://www.modarchive.com has a huge selection of Mods if you're curious to know what I'm talking about. |
yay there are other trackers here :)
FT2 myself, went under the name: nexus :)
and also later i became Dj tsunami.
Do you remember Elwood? he was the one who got me into electronic music :) |
