Hey all!
I have a huge problem with my FL. I used FL3 for a few days and it worked perfectly, then as I was looking through a tutorial I got a message that told me "this version of FL has been modified and will be locked". I then uninstalled it and deleted all the FL things in my registry. After that I installed it FL4 Studio and though everything would be fine, but it wasen't.
Every time I load it up many of the channels are red, and the red channels never give me any sound.
Is there anyway to get my FL back working again?
Thanks in advance! |

When channels are red it means that the sequencer cannot find the sample that is assigned to the channel.
If you loaded a tune into FL4 that you made with FL 3, it is likely that the FL3 samples were not present in the FL4 install.
Solutions:-
1 - Try and find the samples manually and physically drop them onto the red channel - sometimes if the samples have moved into other folders the sequencer still looks in their old location, thus it thinks they are missing.
If you dont have the samples anywhere.
2 - Uninstall FL4. Re-install FL3 to get the samples from the install. Then burn your missing FL3 samples onto CD. Now uninstall FL3 and re-install FL4. Now put the CD samples into your FL4 sample folder.
NOTE after doing #2 it may be necessary to do #1 also, so as your FL4 sequencer can find the samples.
Hope this helps. :) |

yeap... I ahd the same "problem" and I did #1. no big deal.
In fact, I just copied the all the FL3 samples, patches, presets, and pads, and etc, all into a subfolder in the FL4 install. |

If you guys were smart, you'd save everything as a fruity zip file, then it wouldn't matter. Sure, you gige up a little extra HD space, but this kind of thing never happens (except with vst's);

did you install the VorbisACM codec? you have to, or most of fruitys samples won't be loaded.
an installer for the codec should be in your fruity folder. |

Thanks a lot!
The samples are there, all of them but I can't play them. When I try to play them in Winamp I get "Missing codect, can't open file".
I tried to search for the Vorbis codect in my fruity folder and came up with some files, but no executables. Where am I supposed to find the installer?
I guess I won't have to do copying from FL3 folders because all off the samples are there, this seems to be a codect issue! |

ok, you already found the vorbis folder. that's good. :)
to install the codec just right-click on the file called 'vorbisacm.inf' and choose 'install'
that's all. |
