Gemini do amke O.K. bedroom mixers but their uses can't really compete beyond that. Their EQ sections are decent and they're fairly robust. Their crossfader can go a bit dodgy fairly quickly so see if you can get the dealer to throw in a spare one.One thing that is a shame is that they have removed the mini crossfader for the headphones which I really liked (on the 626). Four channels is usually enough for most applications and the pre-amp is decent with a good range. Really though, if you can save any more money go for a Vestax. Maybe a pmc 170a or a pmc 15 mk2. If you have more cash then go for the PMC 270a. the 170 + 270 both have a superb EQ with kill switches and have much better internals and build. This makes them able to perform well in live or gig situations. The crossfader kicks the out of the gemini as do the 100mm faders. In fact I'm insulting Vestax by comparing them. If you can, go for a vestax.

thanx...

in fact, i'm very short of cash right now, so i can forget about vestax... i am willing to pay 100$ for a used mixer in a decent condition. i decided to switch to gemini ps-626 pro (my bid on gemini cdm-1000 was "very" overbid:)...
