They've been commercial ever since they started..

Acid elliot is one of the best most original songs ive heard as of late.

you call it commercial, I call it class.

I think that half of you probably don't know that G&D are registered members of TA and can see what you say (well Dave is anyways) :)
Give them a break, so what if they remixed a couple of pop tunes, it's not like they cloned Hitler or something...

Much respect,

WTF
i think that those who are talking about G & D going commercial or being cheese are non american european snobs who think nothing good can come from america. :whip: :whip: :whip:

well you. this year will probably be G & D's year.

How can anyone not like Gabriel and Dresden? Everything they do is pure class. Now I've never been fan of any American producers before, I never even liked BT that much, but regardless where they are from, these guys are having it. They might remix American pop acts, but none of these remixes have been cheesy or made in bad taste just for the intention of making money. I'm glad that the top European djs have been giving them they're due exposure. Ever since I first heard Tiesto spin Summer Calling in early 2002 I knew these guys were gonna be huge. And look at them now, I think G&D has achieved a lot in a short period of time and they have a long way to go. Americans should be proud ;) .

I need to clear some things up, this thread isn't going exactly in the direction I had in mind. I'm not saying that G&D are selling out, I'm saying that they've been remixing quite a bit of commercial tunes recently and they've been pretty successful at doing so. Not many attempts that electronica artists make at remixing commercial tunes are ones that I'd consider necessarily good, but G&D have been able to do so. I also agree that "Acid Elliot" is one of the most unique remixes I've heard come out this year. But their latest mix of Deborah Cox's "Play Your Part (G&D Vocal Mix)" pushes more towards commercial than any of their previous songs. Just had me worried a bit that they're falling in the line of such acts like Thunderpuss... :nervous:

Gabriel & Dresden are one of my favorite artists (hence the Gabriel & Dresden alliance button in my sig). This is definately the year of Gabriel & Dresden as well.

all u stupid s that write retarded comments about them get ur head out of ur dirty asses and respect them. most of u european wankers that diss them r just in jelous cuz more american producers r becoming huge, popular and innovative unlike some in uninspired cheesy morons such as armin van cheese and christian fairy corsten to name a few.

I don't care where anyone's from - As long as they make good music, whatever.

I do have to comment on that Missy Elliot song...And this is IMO, so don't flame me or something =p

I think the beat they have going in it is awesome, but the vocal's just make me want to rip my hair out heh. I wish instead of calling this a remix of a Missy Elliot song, I would of liked it a lot better if they just called it something else, and left the vocals out...Hmm, maybe they'll make a Dub? That would be nice :p
