OK, so apparently my 1 year old 60 GB hard drive with all my mp3s (some 30 GB) including all songs and live sets are gone as my HD suffered a physical problem... I don't know what to be exact. Anybody have ANY ideas on how to get them back?!??! SO PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW!!!

As long as you can still access the drive haven't written any datat to the drive since this incident and have another drive available to restore the data onto you can try some datat recovery programs. My friend had this happen to him he could of lost 80gigs of stuff but we recovered 95% of it with a datat recovery program. Forgot which one though sorry. Just chk google

in a word backups... try what temperstrip said, if you do get your data back check out the drive manufractures website on warenty info, most drives either have a 1 year or 3 year warenty on them and you may be able to get a replacement drive :)

According to my friend who looked at it, there's something physically wrong with the platters or read head so we can't even access the drives... any other ideas???

1. You can send the harddrive back to the store/webshop you bought it from, maybe they can help..?
It depends on what brand your HD is. (Maxtor, Western Digital, Seagate, IBM +++)

PS: You should have 2-3 (I think..) years warranty on harddrives.

2. You could try to let some harddrive recovery experts have a look at it. A few links:
www.adv-data.com
www.dtidata.com

NB: This could get VERY expensive!!

3. You can visit some Computer forums on the net and search for harddrive failures.
This is a good forum: www.sharkyforums.com

Hope some of these steps can help you. :)
I've also had some problems with a harddrive I bought about 10 months ago, but the problem got solved when I asked for help in a comp forum.

umm, i don't think that the repair people will care what information is on it. it doesn't pertain to them...they're not there to catch you pirating or infringing copyrights...just to fix the HD...
