we did hazings @ my school, but they involved nudity in public, whipped cream, razors that sort of stuff.
the best is being in a big hotel, tying somebody naked to a chair, going up to the top floor and hitting all the buttons....CLASSIC!!!!!! |

i think that if you're going to be initiated into some kind of society, you should go through some kind of "right of passage". Initiations are supposed to involve tests of endurance and dedication. if you want to be a part of something really bad, you'll suck it up and take it like you should. Hazing is part of that.
I think people are becoming to pampered and everytime that one bad thing happens, they have to bring out the pillows for everyone else and have hundreds of people now watching over everyone to make sure nothing bad happens.
Granted this hazing was a bit out of control. Not the beer (everyone drinks underage, get over it!), not the filming (all kids want to film their "Great moments"), not the throwing of food and buckets or the feces or fish guts, but the violence. the kicking to the faces, the guys beating on the girls. that's highly uncalled for. Theres a difference between hitting someone's ass with a paddle making them say "YES SIR MAY I HAVE ANOTHER" (like in "Animal House") and kicking someone who is on the ground in their face. There shouldn't be any severe bloodshed in any society. Cuts and scrapes are bound to happen, but stiches and broken tailbones are not.
The idea that something like this happened is horrible. It really is. But there's no getting around it. all those administrators who said "we can't believe this happened at our school" and the parents who were saying, "i'm so shocked!" are lying like crazy. You CANNOT tell me that everyone obeys the rules 100% of the time. sure a few might do, but not an entire freakin high school. stop the B.S. and accept the fact that this stuff goes on.
There's reason to make this extreme hazing stop. but there's no reason to make all of it stop.
that's just my two cents. i feel bad for those girls who got severely injured, and i give them a lot of kudos for sticking it out through that ordeal. that shows dedication, courage, and determination.
I'm not saying that this sort of thing is OK. by all means, that's not what i'm trying to convey. Nor am i trying to say that in order to get into a secret society you should be tormented and treated like a prisoner of war. But you should be tested somehow; to see if you are either worthy, or dedicatd enough, to be a part of this secret club or society. |

i distinctly remember a high school shooting in Germany about one or two years back... |

yup it happened once. USA is bad influence. That shooting happened after 10 shotings here in US.
I had been just one year in High School here when a guy had a gun and almost by miracle they got him before anything to happen. They didnt reported on the news as i guess a lot more accidents like that. And to think the High School i am in is very quiet and have good reputation. It can happen everywhere as i see it. This country is dangerous. I am telling to all the people who dont live in USA, DONT COME HERE EVEN ON VACATION. Its freaking crazy in here. People are so afraid that they call the police for the smallest thing. Like one time when i was just resting in front of a one house here and the freaking owner called the police just because i look suspicous. ing nuts, man. I would give anything to be somewhere in Europe. I guess i am a sinner and i am supposed to be in hell here for the rest of my life. :( |
