Hey Guys, well... I've been always worried about My Vinyls Life.. ppl says that the Vinyls have life.. that u can play thems many times .... so.. Im playing My new records like 3 or 4 times in a week... .. im a Bedroom DJ now... but should I be wooried that in the time ill go to the club my vinyls will sounds like Crap?... i mean.. I love my records.. and I have spent a lot of money on thems... so.. thats why im worried... by Example: I Always Spin Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness, Silenc, Tremor - Meia Lua, etc... so.. they are almost every time on my sets... im using Trackmaster II SK... at 2.5 gr.
so... how often do u play your records?,,... do u have the same feeling than me? .. will my records die some day??
well.. thats all.. thanks in advance. |

| offcours the records have a life, but i don't think it will change the quality of the sound, i turn sometimes in a club where the have vinyl of more then 10 years old still sounds good, the only thing i don't think is healthy 4 ya vinyl are backspins and scratches |

| True, scratches really aren't healthy... cuz then you get a little "kroak" every time your needle comes by the scratch... Also, the needle you're using has a pretty high quality, don't worry about it. |

My Hip Hop records, spin them everyday usually......not to concerned about them b/c I have about 2-3 copies of each record.
My electronica records, spin them every now and then......if I know that I am gonna be using the same song over and over again, I usually record it to CD and use the CD.
However, my 20, 30, 40 + dollar records, record them to CD, and keep the record in a safe, climate controlled atmosphere......:disbelief |

Hi, Well..i Play in club from time to time.. but i wasnt asking about how old was the Tune,... what a was asking is about the quality.. PPl here at my country.... u can play now the nalin and kane remix of Cafe Del Mar and for they will be a new tune since the genere havent progress a lot in the last years... at least u dont play the normal and commercial trance like tunes like Out of Blue... i easily can play 2000 tunes without a problem.. at least if will be a quality tune... one of my favorites is Clear View - Never Enough, and its a tune of the '98 .. so.. I think if its a really good tune wont be a problem how old is.... i still buy 99,98 2000 records. |

oh sorry man i didn't mean to make it sound like i was slammin you. i just have a couple of friends that whenever they play out they play the exact same records every time and it gets old quick so thats what i thought you were doing...my bad
try that vinyl cleaning spray though i use it all the time and it works cuz there isn't any dustbunnies on my needles at the end of a set. |

Yeah, I seem to have a problem with dust building up on the needle after I play a record, I originally thought it was because my tone arm was set too heavy, but no matter what you put it at, there will always be buildup. And dust isn't really avoidable.
I've always thought it would be a huge pain to clean my entire record collection. Do you clean all your records on a regular basis? Or just when they get really bad? And does anyone have any product names that work well on vinyl?
Cheers. |

| Best thing to use would be GruvGlide. Gets rid of dust, dirt, clicks/pops, distortion, fingerprints, static, and leaves your records spanking shiny like a baby's booty. The bad thing is that this sucker costs $25 (U.S. dollars). It comes with two felt cloth wipes as well. Can be used to clean about 200 records (depending on how much you use per record). |
