MediaConcern and DJ Tiesto have reached an agreement regarding an Exclusive TV deal

Press release, The Hague, the Netherlands. MediaConcern has today clinched a deal with Tiesto's recording company Black Hole Recordings to provide the television coverage and international distribution of the mega dance event in the Gelredome on the 10th of May 2003. The event, organised by ID&T, is already a sold-out gig.

No less than 25,000 dance enthusiasts will be witness to a spectacular eight hour performance by the popular DJ Tiesto, also known as the world’s number one DJ. He will play the entire sell-out performance solo in the Gelredome in Arnhem. MediaConcern Productions, MediaConcern’s production unit, will employ 17 cameras to cover the event. The television distribution will also be organised by MediaConcern. Both parties have agreed to an exclusivity deal.

"It is a large-scale project!" explains Stan Gordijn, Creative Director for MediaConcern Productions, "in addition to the coverage of the event it is the worldwide television distribution that is an especially fantastic opportunity for us."

Black Hole Recordings has indicated that it is very pleased with the working procedures: "MediaConcern will make a 26 minute long special: 'The making of..' with unique behind-the-scenes footage as well as the run-up to the concert. In addition, there will also be an hour long 'in-concert' programme", says Arny Bink, Managing Director of Black Hole Productions. "Various parties have already expressed their interest in both programmes", Gordijn continues, "our markets are especially Europe, US and Asia; precisely where DJ Tiesto is extremely popular, and the interest has come mainly from television stations in these regions".

Incidentally, this is not just to be a one-off collaboration, because both parties see good potential for expanding this into an annual event!

It needs to be brought to American TV so people can finally realize what the dance scene is like when it is done RIGHT.

But which american channel would dare to transmit this?!?! :conf: I think this concert is WAY too much for MTV, and besides MTV, there's no better channel ( in terms of music ) .. sooo .. mm?
