| there is a very small potentiometer on the circuit board that controls the voltage going into the laser if you turn it clock wise the voltage increases causing the laser to brighten, the voltage swing is between 2 and 5 tenths of a volt so you dont have to turn it much. if you have never worked on a circuit board or dont feel comfortable taking a cd player apart then i dont recomend trying this because it is very easy to cause damage to the player |

| I've been burning CDRs for quite awhile now, using Plextor's SCSI CD burners and usually brand name media...Imation, TDK, Verbatim, Sony, etc...and have had great luck...I can't remember the last time I had a burn not work in someone else's or any of my players...Anyways, not sure what to suggest, except that you get what you pay for...a friend of mine picked up some chimichanga (no name) brand burner and ended up returning it after he made a nice stack of coasters...about every other CDR. Not sure if any of this helps, just wanted to share my experience. |

IVe had problems with it too...what ive heard is that its the Cds. some brands of dvd/cd players dont like certain brands of disks. I use gigastore, and they work every where I go, except in my moms car(honda accord) Funny thing is that my dads Oddesy work just fine(same year) so that makes me think its the Cd player..specially cuz the accord wont play some import disc and independant label cds.
My guess is the best way 2 fix it is to change whatever is cheaper. be it your deck, or replacing you collection of burnt discs..just try 1 out first. Ask guys in store..they should know something |

I can't write on 80 min cd-r.
Anyone knows what the problem could be?
A few months ago I could write on 80 min cd-r
My other cd's I write at 2x speed with a 4xspeed writer.
Otherwise I somethimes can't read the cd's.
I have a good writer, well it was good when I bought it, its an A-open and lately I use TDK D-View cdrs
Can somebody help me?

Well you have to consider the age of your writer, 80min CDs came out after the 4x burners were conceived. So this is probably not uncommon amongst 4x burners. When did you buy your burner, I had a 4x about 4+ years ago, so if yours is THAT old, its way past it's life expectancy. Though I am sure there are litteraly thousands of 2x and 4x burners out there that still work perfectly. In conclusion, I think it is time ot get with the times and get yourself a new burn-proof 16x burner!! :D:D The price is down to about $200-250 american, which is not too much. I think I paid $300.00 for my 12x 1 year ago. |

In oktober it will be 2 years old. And a few months ago I did write on 80 min cd's but suddenly I couldn't burn on an 80min cd anymore
I've already tried writing with Nero, easy cd creator and nti cd maker pro
nothing works

Welp, install your burner into another machine and install nero(best damn program), and if you get same results...I'd say you need the laser eye cleaned or re-aligned(not worth the cost!). |

| yeahh..sounds like your burner needs a new laser eye. might as well just get a new one. :) or if you have a warranty, you can send it back and they'll send ya back a BETTER one since they wouldn't make the one you have anymore. :D |

djCresto...
Check with the manufacturer of your cd burner...often times they have a flashrom software upgrade for your burner that may correct the trouble as well. |
