What software can I use to post a sample of an unknow song?

| go to www.syntrillium.com and download cooledit 2000, its just a shareware version, but this is enough to create a sample for the id forum. with this programm you can load .mp3 and .wav files, cut them (e.g. to the climax), and save the sample with the settings you want (e.g. mp3 48kbit/sec <-this should be enough for IDing a tune) |

Unknown tracks forum recommends 24kbit/s at 11kHz (keeps file size down)
If you use a good enconder you get a decent quality sample. |
