My opinion - go to release or the pit.
Don't get me wrong PDR is ok, but it way too damn cluttered and disorganized for me. |
Where is Release and the Pit???
and what do you guys say about the mixer price??? |

^^^ They're both around Yonge/College area...
The Pit Records - 439 Yonge St.
Release Records - 527 Yonge St.
I dunno much about Play De, I went in once, saw it was plastered with hip hop/r&b, and left...
:p |

get out on college station, walk down (south) yonge towards eaton center (big screen, u can't miss it)
as u walk south, it's gonna be a store on the left side on the street.. # 527 with a speaker outside the door.

i wouldn't buy a stanton mixer...i have NOTHING against them but i personally gonna get American DJ or even better: Behringer make pretty good, entery class mixers that are heavy duty.
BEST ADVICE: if u like the Stanton mixer and feels good in ur hands, go for it. |

lol agreed.
but they "atleast" had a few blackhole records in there... i got Ton TB - Silent Witness/Rebirth from there...also PVD - Nothing But You
again: it's not very organized, their target is mainly hiphop/top40 euro stuff.
The Pit is not that bad, even though that bald guy in there does get pushy sometimes. Do what i do: go with a friend tell him ur shopping with him, he's gonna bug ur friend... right Arsalan? lol
Fav record store so far: Release. |

I dunno G, I prefer Play De over any other store in the city... even though Release guys get bunch of promos they are mostly crap (the good ones get sold out in a matter of hours), while in Play De you can find anything, and I mean anything from progressive house/trance to tribal house/techno... and I go there to shop whenever Tim Patrick is in the store (for some quality recommendations, since he knows what the good is) or I manage to catch some other great locals like Dj Addy to help me out with some new stuff, and I always leave happy as a baby (broke too, but hey, that's the price you gotta pay)... |

Nothing comes easy my friend... then again, you can always catch the right person and ask them for a certain record or a type of music and they'll search those piles for you! |

Didn't Eastern block closed down ? I remembered on TJ.COM afew months ago they confirmed that. And also, they were selling ppl's promo vinyls and dubplates without them knowing about it. There was a a lot TO producers that found there promos behind the counter.
Eastern block confirmed they didn't know those were ppl's promos, and also claimed the Record label didn't not say anything about it.
Too bad TJ.com data base was rested and cleared out a few motnhs, I would show you the drama Eastern Block went through. |

| I usually go to the release records, they seem to have the best prices !!!! PDR, bloody fingers big time, and clustered, but picked up some crazy tracks, the pit, the guy loads you up with tons of vinyls, some wicked others not so wicked (if you got the time to go through 100's) |

| sometimes i find myself browsing through tons of vinyl at PDR! they really should get a bigger place! The Pits selection is crappy! |
