What you mean "rip out" ?
& why does the PC freeze? |
|

at a rough guess its freezing due to a memory leak, which can come from a number of things, although in general windows xp is pretty good at memory management, i suggest windows update as this will patch bugs etc that have been found. try uninstalling the current version of soulseak and installed a older version. also could you list your computer specs, and what software you have running.

open up pc and find the system speaker and yank it out
yank out the speaker and see if it still freezes up |

yeah,,do that and you're gonna have a nasty problem..
it won't get any better, you just won't hear that beep sound, which actually indicates that something is wrong with your pc.
 |

pulling out the speaker will not solve the problem... the pc speaker has been in pc's since the 1980's and will not cause any problems, the reason why its beeping is because something is wrong |

1) Faulty drivers. Been installing any new software lately?
2) Bad OS. Win 98 in particular is notorious for this kind of crashing.
3) Faulty hardware. Possibly memory related.
4) Overclocking has made your PC unstable.
5) Virus (there's always a possibility...) |
or you bios is ed... |

| If it only happens when you're using soulseek it's more likely a software than harware problem. Have a look at the soulseek troubleshooting. |
