I made this thread in the latin forums, but I thought it was a good idea to expand it here.
The Great Compilation.
Some time ago I tried to made a compilation that represented the TRANCE genre completely, it was for a gift... anyway this compilation should had tunes from every genre (Chill Out, Uplifting, Hard, Goa, Progressive, Acid, etc.) so after some time I came up with this CD:
01 Kai Tracid - Too many times
02 DJ Tiësto - Close To You (Magik Muzik remix)
03 Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb Mix)
04 Chicane - Salt Water
05 Sasha - Xpander
06 Astral Projection - Mahadeva
07 DJ Tiësto - Obsession
08 Cosmicman - I love you
09 Pulp Victim - The world
10 Cosmic Gate - Back to Earth
11 Twenty Something - Mayflower (Greek Power mix)
Now I feel this CD doesn't have the "flow" I expected so it would be great if you guys could name about 12 songs (1 CD) of the most varied and quality trance you consider; new, classics, whatever you want, just tell us what is in your opinion The Great Compilation. :crazy: |

Well it's going to be inherently difficult to mix together a cd that will have good progression if you're switching from genre to genre, however, I recommend you do it in this general order (to produce a buildup)
Chillout
Progressive
Goa
Hard
Acid
Progressive
Uplifting
Epic

this was just a CD mix i threw together to let some people get a feel for trance at a party, they were into punk and metal so psy and goa wouldnt have gone over too well i dont think i love the stuff tho. You could probably cut mind master- therapie out and yet another day and throw in the psy/goa and chill out at the end it would work well. |

That's a pretty good list. I think you'd have to put a NU-NRG track on there as well, they practically have their own style. |
