They are both good but If I really have to choose I'd go with Reloaded.
The setup is pretty similar to LOTR's... First movie sets the table with a strong storyline, explaining the concept, and the second one is filled with action and meant to catch the eyes..
so they each have their strong points but I like the continuity and how they manipulated the idea of living in a virtual world in the second |

I guess I was just so hyped about the 2nd one and it delivered
so I go for the 2nd one....took storyline to a new level w/ that architect
i agree w/ it being a transition sequel

Actually the archetict had an indirect roled in the first. because agent smith had already informed the viewer that there was more than one matrix, it was somewhat obvious that there had to be a person creating all these different matrixes. |

| I liked the 2nd one better because it made me think so much more, it brought up so many more questions, the first one had a lot of deep philosophical issues but the second one had even more anomalies. |
