I think I murdered one of My Technics :(

Hi Guys.. oh well... one og My Decks didnt have the pup-op light that lights the record... so.. i bought the light.. and try to put it.... but... when i plug it to it.. a circuit shock happended... and my deck now doesnt works... i mean... no POWER On .. so... does someone of u had have this problem??.. did I killed my deck?.. or it could be just a resistence or a fusil?....

well.. any help will be very appreciate.

wow thats ed up , i dont really know anything about this but i hope its just a resistence or a fusil , which it prolly is or you just some rewiring, i dont think you couldve burnt your motor or something so it still should be repairable , I HOPE :(

Damn, always unplug before doing stuff like that for future reference.

It could be a short circut, nothing that an expierienced technition wouldnt be able to fix though. Probably would cost up to a good 100 dollars though to be fixed.

Thanks for replies guys... yeah.. maybe i would have to buy a new MK2 Mainboard.... i have a 1200 MK2... and the one I Touched was a 1210... do u know if thew mainboard is different.. or is the same thing??

i dunno what your plugs/sockets are like in venezuela, but at the end of the electricity cord coming out of your deck there is a plug you put into the socket on the wall. in the uk we have fuses in the socket incase there is too much electricity going through so that the equipment doesnt break. i suggest you open this plug up when the electricity is off of course and replace the fuse if there is 1.

There's a fuse on the circuit board of the SL.

Hopefully it's a fuse that can be replaced....:o

I've heard those lights burn out a lot (the one you were trying to replace). You didn't unplug it before you replaced it?? Or did you?

yeah.. i did unplug it... but when i plug it.. the circuit short appeared.
