Same thing with myself, pretty much. Then once things get hyped up amongst friends and word spreads around, you often even get people coming out to party just out of curiousity. I've always got friends asking me when the next one is. Hopefully the ones who aren't well-informed on the music and party scenes take some interest in both. |

:haha: Hahaha, I wonder if Chris (Endlesswave) recalls saying pretty much the same thing yesterday when I sent him DJ Patife - 'Fantastico Theme Remix' (which I love). :stongue: |

| its easy to convert people into the party but its way harder to convert people into the music. i have brought countless friends to parties and they love it (first timers are the best). but to get to to listen to the music on just a regular basis is much more difficult. at the age i am now, it is pretty hard to force anyone into liking a music genre that has never done it for ya. it was easy when i was listening to NKOTB when i was 10. |

I agree. Some friends of mine who came out to parties with me loved it right from the get-go and just wanted more. But there are always some who just aren't fond of it and never will be, which is fine.
As far as the music goes, either their disinclination to it is confirmed or (re-)appreciation for it is found. |

So true steroeprincess. I brought my friend to the see Max Graham at the GC lounge and the live music definitely attracted him to the music so much more...now he wants to get tacks all the time and he's so much more receptive to the music now. I felt the same way when I went to my first party and then I just HAD to get my hands on the music to listen to at home! |

more like...repetitive and crap when not mixed in...
i dunno, maybe im bitter that (IMO) the d'n'b community stagnated (again IMO) but i really think it hit a brick wall.
i haven't listened to d'n'b/jungle for about 3 years and perhaps i should look into it again, but i really think trance works on so many levels, besides, i can listen to trance without needing to two step all over the place. with jungle/d'n'b i need the atmosphere...listening to it in the cd player just isn't too fun. |

You obviously have no clue. As you even said yourself. So why even comment on it? |

I was just wondering how many of you out there try to get your buddies to listed to trance?? When I listen, the music does so much for me mentally, it allows my mind to wander, think clearly, and totally relax. I tell them to hear the music, not just listen to it. Most of the time they listen for 5 minutes and say they don't care for it really, its ok, but not their thing. It seems though for me, I try and push it on all my buddies and see if they will convert to tranceaddicts like myself. Does this story sound at all familiar to anyone else?? |
*was converteD*... well.... sorta =\... i like techno better =P, ambigiousbliss just asked me to sign up and i did =P. |

Why don't we all take a higher plane and think of ourselves as the enlightened ones. :D
As the ones that've seen the real world, it is almost impossible for us to be in it alone. It is our duty to come back and try to help the others. -Plato's Allegory of the Cave.
p.s. The one that attempts to bring the rest into the real world gets torn limb by limb in the Allegory of the Cave. So...good luck. |

I have let my friends listen to trance, some like it some dont. But i let them experience it anyways. Most just say, its too repetative and dont want to listen to it. Fortunatly some of my really good friends like it, and keep asking me for more. Its nice to be able to sit down with friends and listen to trance, rather thant he radio. It can be very tiring listening to POP and ROCK all day, especially when you cant stand it.
thank god for trance, and people with open minds! |

about d'n'b? well, no recent clue but i was a big head back in 2000 2001 so i think i'm entitled to 'a opinion'.
besides, i can post if i want, can i not? if you want to validate my opinion, fine by me, but if you don't that's also fine. just don't tell me you have no clue about d'n'b in general because quite frankly i have a do 'have a clue'. |
