Is Bush a hypocrite?

As we can see, not all the things that Bush has promised to do have been done. There are still radical factions of the Taliban gaining power in Afghanistan. Al Quaeda seems to be still functioning (attacks in Riyadh). A possible genocide of non-Shiite muslims in Iraq seems imminent, not to mention the HUGE threat of Iranian suppourt flowing into Iraq for the Shiites there. Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein have not been found.
Bush promised the nation that the wars he has recently engaged in would put a full stop to terrorist plots, and would end harsh dictatorship in certain places around the globe. Not even half of these objectives have been achieved. Is Bush a hypocrite, or are the "operations" around the globe still working out the problems?? |

| I don't care about Bush's promises, neither do I believe in them. I posted this thread just to see what other people believed. I wanted to know if others believed the same thing that you and I believe, Bush IS a hypocrite, and a very incompetent President. |

Actually the first tax cuts DID provide economic stimulus and it did curb the recessionary trend that the economy was heading towards.

Simply take a look at the trend in GDP, employment, and personal income around the 2001/2002 period (take into account the recognition lag) and you can see a bottoming out effect that the tax cut accomplished. Additionally I posted an article previously that outlined the positive successes of the first tax in preventing economic recession. Simply because we didn't experience an economic boom of the 90's does not mean that it can be lauded as a failure. That being said, I disagree with this new tax cut in that the economic situation of the country is different. The first tax cut was needed to increase consumer confidence and consumer spending. Now we are suffering from high unemployment which requires increased fiscal spending rather than tax cuts. |
