HI

Any of you guys got your hands on the v-station? I heard the shops had it today? Sounds like an exciting piece of binary!

I got it for testing purposes....great sounds nice quality...maybe a bit overrated by the softsynth-scene but overall a nice synth

I don't agree that it's overrated. This thing sounds practically identical to the K-Station (I've heard comparisons!). The K-Station has a slightly better filter, but in a non comperative mix you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Some have even went as far as to say that it sounds as good/better than the Nova series!

10/10 for this synth IMO.

i think its in ace :D

If you're going to use the V-Station intensively, you should consider buying a KS4/5 in stead, since only 4 V-Stations can work on a PIV 2,5Ghz at the same time. Considering that a complete 2,5Ghz PC with a professional soundcard is way more expensive than a KS4/5 synth, it would be much smarter to buy the hardware equivalent. Plus you get a full-range keyboard with knobs for free ;)

U sure? I can run about 9 at the same time on a 1.7ghz athlon
the v station doesnt seem to be anything special imo, but ive not really messed about with it much yet.

Off course it depends on the amount of notes you play at the same time :)

i can get about 3 playing simultaneously on this 600mhz 128mb effort, and 20+ (couldn't be arsed to add any more) on my 2.6ghz 512mb ram comp. they will always advertise minimum possible tho to cover their backs.

Ok, so forget my post :)

i only tried it with every 16th note playing in flstudio for them all at the same time, using random different presets so i suppose for practical usage in a tune id be able to run twice as many at least
Doubt ill use it much tho.

dark_ice
