the vocals r really what this song is about ..sorry if im straying from mr. DAve dResden's opinion,,but to me the whole song is clutter and cacophony till the main vocal streams in (the catchy bit) which is really taken from the original kate bush song...so i fail to see how this song is all that...
on the other end of the spectrum a song liek beautful tihngs by G&D is catchy in both the instrumental and vocal bits and wud defnintely get my vote....just IMHO ... |

But the reason this song is so good is because it has basically a 6 minute buildup. It teases by holding off on the main vocal hook and uses the bass sparingly, building tension until it breaks and the vocal cuts in followed shortly after by -- wham -- the bass. I can't imagine it being so effective if it took off after a couple minutes. |
