Well, your "I have no sac" comment reveals your heterosexist/patriarchal inclinations to begin with, but I won't comment on that further.
There's a difference between being personally insulted (i.e. I'm perfectly willing to take a number of hits when I do something stupid and deserve to be mocked) and having your identity attacked. Calling stuff "gay" doesn't target an individual who has earned an insult (like calling someone a "ing moron" when they are one), it instead attacks an entire segment of the population (and for that matter, one which is often treated like by many people).
So that explains my wariness of using the word gay as an insult. |

If fags 'come out' and act like pansies in public then they will attract ridicule, its the old paradigm of pointing out and taking the piss out of the unusual - or non-normal (if you can define normal). There is no biological normal. Throughout all of history, there's been a steady portion of the population (around 10%) that has been gay. It's not as if people invented homosexuality and chose to live that lifestyle, it's how they are.
If black people come out, they should be ready to accept ridicule, because they're the minority 13% of the population, right? |

Such ignorance. Gay people don't "choose" their identity and can't "choose" to be straight. The evidence for this is flawless and ample. If you can't grasp that basic fact you don't have any room to talk.
Second, there are plenty of gay people who don't, as you so aptly put it, "act like pansies." That's an overblown stereotype that you've been force-fed because of the culture surrounding you. A similar perception surrounded the place of American women in the 1950s, the ostracism of colonial Quakers, and just about any other oppressed minority in history. |

I meant come out of their homes, but I neglected to remember what context I was speaking in.
If black people are going to be made fun of for being black, are they just supposed to hide from society?
P.S. Michael Jackson doesn't appear black to me, but he is. So maybe coming out is necessary. :-P |
