more car stereo questions...

since you guys were so quick to answer the thread about subs i figure i'll see if any of you can help me out with these questions.

ok when my system went in, all of my mirrors shook like crazy (which i expected), but now after some time has passed, the rearview mirror inside the car moves to the point that if i have the volume up really loud, after about a minute, the mirror has shifted so much that when i look in it, i see the middle of the back seats and no longer out the back window. this obviously is not safe for driving and i was wondering if there was any way i could tighten the mirror somehow. also this mirror is making an annoying noise when it vibrates as well. any thoughts on this?

as for the trunk rattling, i bought some of that noise dampening spray, used the entire can on the trunk with limited results. i wanted to avoid dynamat but i guess i nay have to use some now. someone told me that i could order a replacement rubber guard that fits around the trunk that is thicker than the factory installed one. i was wondering what some of you people had done to silence that annyoing rattle in your trunk.

thanks for the help guys...

Your car has a desease called: I am an old american POS car..
Nothing much u can do now..
Next car get a nice german or japanese car with a nice tight, rigid structure... or upgrade your amps to have a nice CLEAN non-rattly bass...

gee if i didnt have a nissan altima i would agree with your theory about my car being an old american pos.

my amps and subs are fine by the way...

When something vibrates it's going to come loose. It doesn't matter if it's German, Japanese or American. So, you should probably turn down your bass before the car rattles itself apart.

Take it from an engineer.

I could tell you more stuff about some coming loose in your car, but it's on a need to know basis.

the distortion you get from ty amps isnt going to rattle you car any more that a clean amp with less distortion. the more power you supply your speakers...the more air movement your going to have rattling the out of your car. i would take apart your mirrors and put some dynamat on the back of them so they dont rattle any more. also its a good idea to dynamat your trunk for cleaner bass and that will also help keep the rattling to a minimum.

thanks for the help. i guess dynamat is the way to go.

Yes, either dynamat or DYNAMITE.. Either will put an end to your misery..

i once played with a 1/4 stick of dynamite and blew a 4' hole in the middle of a baseball field:tongue2

I do not condone the use of dynamite.

Bass in my cars has caused by rearview mirror to fall of a total of 6 times. This has happened in 3 of my old cars. It really sucks when your driving down the highway jamming at 80mph and your rearview mirror somehow lands in your lap, it will definatly startle you.
