was snooping around the basement of my friend's grandfather's house
up orth and we stumbled upon a box... the box had something nice
inside... a Technics SLQD33 direct drive turntable with straight
tonearm...
from what i can gether (didnt get a chance to read the specs)
its sirect drive quartz turntable, and is automatic (what does it
really mean when a turntable is automatic?!)
based on pictures, i dont really see a pitch fader, hence this might
not be a DJ-use turntable... what do you guys think?
anyone know of this deck? good? bad? DJ useable? anyone? |

i think automatic means that you push a button and the tonearm automatically moves into position and lowers itself and when you press it again it raises and goes to its resting position. either that or it turns on when you move it out of position. are you sure theres no fader? there might be a knob...usually located byu teh 33/45 speed setting |

Sorry dude, its a listening only turntable ....not for DJ use. Automatic would mean that, yes, the turntable operates by itself in that u have no control over the tonearm (some do though). Being direct drive it has a better response w/ the platter when u turn on the deck. As far as using it for DJ purposes.....i actually would not recommend it. Not familiar w/ the deck though....sorry. Hope this helps.

Probably still top-drawer though, might go for a few bob. |

What I wouldn't give to dig around in my basement and find a pair of 1200's...
I'll keep dreaming.
